For over two years a handful of writing and publishing professionals contemplated the idea of opening their own small publishing house. As the pandemic snuffed out small presses, one after another, leaving careers in jeopardy, writers abandoned, and wonderful books (published and to be published) in peril, the dream could no longer wait.

Leonella was formed by an outstanding editor from a large press, a renowned cover designer and book layout artist from a small house, a published author who specializes in marketing, several writers who love to read, and an engineer—who just might be the best proofreader on the planet. Some of these people are contractors with the growing company, others are at the helm every day. We understand first-hand the painstaking hours you have invested into crafting your manuscript, and the anxiety you feel as you hand it off for review.
